Athletics
Physical Education at Laurel Hill is a total sports, fitness and health program. Every student is encouraged to have fun, make friends, and cooperate. Competition is adjusted to a healthful level and sportsmanship is a top priority.
Kindergarten through 5th grade students enjoy a spiraling curriculum that builds on increasing knowledge, movement, strength, coordination, and social skills. The program is sensitive to individual differences in ability, motivation, and experience. Sports are staggered to grade level and skills and rules of play are modified, accordingly.
We play it all – the traditional and the exotic! Beginners and advanced enjoy lacrosse, basketball, baseball, soccer, hockey, tennis, track and field, archery, gymnastics, fitness exercise, yoga, and more. Try GaGa Ball! Or explore Project Adventure complete with rock wall climbs and “Shot Swing” free-fall thrills. Round it all out with Field Days and after-school sports clubs.
The “Jaguars” want you! Available to students in 5th – 8th grade, the Jaguars are our winner’s circle team for co-ed intramural sports. It’s competitive games with other schools in basketball, soccer and baseball. No tryouts! Just join-up!
Excellent outdoor and indoor facilities including baseball and soccer fields, tennis and basketball courts, gymnastic fitness circuits, running track, gymnasium, archery range, batting cage, deck hockey rink, and four heated swimming pools for the summertime. All at Laurel Hill for a complete athletic experience. After-school intramurals, sports club activities, and Jaguar team action for boys and girls offer exciting opportunities that encourage the novice in sports and intrigue the seasoned athlete.
