Middle School Application process

We appreciate your interest in the LHS Middle School and cordially invite you to experience
our vibrant learning community. We look forward to meeting you personally! Please call to
schedule an appointment if you would like to visit Laurel Hill before submitting an application.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES
1. APPLICATION FORM - due early Fall
Click here to complete the online application and mail the application fee. - $50.00

2. SCHOOL FORMS PACKET - by Jan 15
Available as a download after clicking the application "Submit" button, or request by calling.

3. SCHOOL VISIT - Oct, Nov, or Dec.
Upon submission of the online application, we will call you to schedule a family visit
to the school. During the visit, you will have the opportunity to become familiar with the
school's philosophy, enriched curriculum and unique programs. Prospective students may
attend classes and meet our faculty and students.

4. SCHOOL RECORDS - by Jan. 15
Submit transcript request form to your child's current school.

5. TEACHER RECOMMENDATIONS - by Jan. 15
Submit teacher recommendation forms from two current or recent teachers.

6. WRITING SAMPLE - by Jan. 15
Submit a current representative sample of student's work. Sample may be fiction or
non-fiction, but should demonstrate critical thinking skills.

7. ACADEMIC ASSESSMENT
Following the submission of all school records, teacher recommendations and student
writing sample, call to schedule an appointment for an individualized achievement
assessment and submit the test fee.- $250

A note on testing: Applicants are given a personal assessment not a group administered test.
This method affords us the opportunity to become familiar with each student's personality as
well as core skills. The results of this assessment enables us to plan a unique academic program
that addresses each student's individual needs. An in-depth discussion of the test results
will be given to parents at a scheduled conference with the Headmaster.

APPLICANTS ARE URGED TO COMPLETE ALL APPLICATION PROCEDURES INCLUDING
TESTING, PRIOR TO JAN 15 FOR NOTIFICATION OF ADMISSION DECISION BY FEB 15

All deposits. fees, and the tuition preference forms must be submitted to
