PROJECT DESCRIPTION
AUTHORS CREATE, WRITE AND PUBLISH
“Tales From The Hill” (TFTH) - It’s the literary magazine for short story writers, poets, and editors and for book and film reviewers, too!
Students polish their authoring skills through the magazine’s “Writer’s Craft Workshop”. TFTH writers will collaborate with authors and artists to create their own masterpieces, while learning the arts of creating character, voice, plot, dialogue and theme. Students will design, edit, illustrate and create content for this exciting new ‘zine!
The Writer's Den is suitable for students who enjoy writing and wish to see their original work published. Participants may have an opportunity to publish their Hill Tale in StoneSoup books.
WHY THE LITERARY “ZINE”?
Creative writing is one of the most stimulating and fulfilling ways to express yourself.
The Writer's Den experience will guide you surely and safely into the writing life.
- You will expand your powers of observation, imagination, and language.
- You will collect numerous tips on craft and practices.
- You will be exposed to various forms of creative writing in the fields of verse and prose fiction and nonfiction. Ideas will be sparked, confidence acquired, and you’ll gain a sense of where to move onward with your writing.
